Zach Purtzer

My name is Zachary Zane Purtzer. I was born in Portland Oregon on March 18th, 1998 and lived in Oregon until 2018 until I first visited New York City, where I now reside. 

There is a burning passion which keeps me painting tirelessly, striving to create unique work with original style and exceptional quality. My dream is to make art everyday for a living, not solely to make ends meet, but to find my individual style that will distinguish my work in history.

Creating art gives me the drive to persevere. The desire to create more brought me across the country to New York City… to fight for my place here, where I have given myself fully to the art world. Studying fine art history, learning about framing, upholding apprenticeships, attending classes (Art Students League) and showing my pieces at exhibits has expanded my knowledge profoundly. I continue to grow daily and hone in on my craft. 

Watercolour on paper is my preferred medium. Using materials of the highest quality is key in my work - I strive for superb colour, line quality and longevity in each piece.
